Family
I believe that family
and friends are everything. My parents have been married for over
25 years. I am Daddy's girl. He would do just about anything for
me, but he always makes sure I am looking towards the Consequences.
(yuck).
I have two sisters. Penny is 2 years older. She married her childhood
sweetheart, and they have a little girl named Ellie. They live
in NC. My younger sister Amy is engaged to Paul, and they live
not too far from me. Amy and I don't always agree on what the
other is doing, but we are ALWAYS there for each other.
There are several people who hold special places in my heart.
Susan & Scott
- we have been friends for over 10 years. We went to school together
and have seen each other through everything. My first marriage,
my two kids, Scott's daughter, Susan's new husband, and now Susan's
expectant bundle of joy. Not to mention all the other people and
places that have been through our lives in the past ten years.
Then there is Missy.
She and I work together. I've known her for several months and
I think she is one of the funniest people I know. Just like me,
she can do something totally stupid, know it's totally not good
for her, and do it anyway. But she has the courage to tell me
her opinion of my truth no matter how much I may not want to admit
she's right.
Kevin - wherever he is at the moment - is my echo. He and I grew
up together (he's my cousin) and though life has taken us apart
from each other, he is still one who understands all the implications
in my words when I choose to express them.
And then I have Darryl.
He is my gift from God. He and I have known each other for a little
over 2 years now. He listens to me all the time. The most awesome
thing is that when he doesn't understand what he hears, he asks
me to explain. He talks to me about everything. He's as open as
I am about things he likes and doesn't like. He doesn't get mad
when I ask questions. I always want to know how things work and
why people think and act they way they do. He never gets mad at
my questions. He is so awesome that I had to marry him. (Did you
really think I was stupid enough to let someone else have all
that?)
